Waking Up at 5am to Code

I'm currently experimenting with waking up at 5am to work on personal projects before heading to work.

Someone one Hacker News once mentioned they do this, and it stuck in the back of my head ever since. I've been at this for two weeks thus far.

The basic idea

At 5am I jump out of bed and code for two hours, then get ready for work. I do this every day, including weekends. I maintain an online Kanban board which I groom/prep in the evenings while watching TV, to ensure I am ready to be productive the next morning.

That's just a link to the original article. The author seems to live in Denver, so the sunrise should be at 7am over there. I guess at 5am it's still pretty dark.

Hey, Alex, are you still trying to wake up early? If you, have you found|noticed some changes in your body?

Nope, I haven't tried this experiment myself yet.

Ambitious! I am afraid this wouldn't work for me, I need to sleep a lot.

It's definitely too early! I like to sleep much longer, like to 11am.

I would have to be crazy to wake up at this hour. It's the middle of the night. I would be 'dead' for the whole day!

Maybe it's healthy for my organism, but it's definitely to early. I sleep between 10-12 hours, and sometimes I think it's not enought.
